Academic Profile
Katy’s career in history education is defined by a interdisciplinary focus, blending qualitative research with arts-led methodologies. Her work explores the intersections of philosophy, materiality, and pedagogy to reimagine how students engage with the past in a classroom setting.
Katy received her BA in History from the University of Leeds in 2007, her Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) from the Institute of Education, London in 2013 and her MA in Curriculum Studies from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver in 2020. Katy's PhD is in history education and she studied for this at UCL's Institute of Education from 2021 to 2026. Katy currently works as a Lecturer in History Education at UCL.
